What is the recycling step of waste foam?

After the foam is discarded, there are four places to go – incinerate, landfill, recycle, and abandon the natural environment. Foam is an artificial substance that is difficult to degrade and decomposes very slowly under natural conditions. But in fact, foam plastics can be recycled and reused as raw materials for plastics and materials for heat generation. Turn waste into treasure – this is the most ideal way to dispose of waste foam.

The first step: classified collection

Foam that is discarded during the production and processing of foams, such as scraps, are single in type, free from contamination and aging, and can be collected and disposed of separately.

Step 2: Fragmentation and recycling

When the waste foam is broken, it is necessary to select a suitable foam recycling machine according to its nature.

For foam recycling, a GREENMAX foam densifier can be used. The GREENMAX Foam Densifier compresses the foam to a volume that is one-90th the original. The discarded foam is converted into a foam block by compression/hot melt processing of a GREENMAX foam densifier.

The third step: Resource recycling

With the rise of global crude oil prices, the price of foamed plastic products, one of the petroleum derivatives, has naturally risen, and the recycling of waste foam has also been mentioned as the primary position. The recycling of waste foam has been widely adopted by modern industrial enterprises. After the waste foam is screened and classified, it must undergo crushing, granulation, modification and other processes. It becomes a variety of transparent opaque particles, and then classified according to the phase, and finally becomes a recyclable material that can be reused.

Foam-recycling

The compressed or heated foam block is granulated by INTCO Recycling, and becomes regenerated particles that can be reused, and then made into a finished photo frame, thereby  increasing the recy cling and utilization value of the foam.
