Foam densifier prevents more foam from entering landfills

According to the Central Ohio Solid Waste Authority, nearly 7,000 tons of foam are going to the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill as of 2019. The Hilliard Environmental Sustainability Council hopes this number will not continue to increase, but rather decrease through the foam densifier, an advanced recycling facility.

Nowadays, foam recycling is no longer the traditional way of landfill and incineration. Whether from the environmental aspect or efficiency considerations, foam recycling machine is the best choice. The machine uses crushing, screw extrusion or high-temperature melting to produce a dense cold-pressed or hot-melted block, and then the waste foam becomes the raw material for plastic pellets that major plastic pellet manufacturers need. The value of foam is much higher than going to incinerators and landfills. These plastic pellets can be made into a variety of framed products that can be sold back into the marketplace.

GREENMAX is one of the many companies that have been committed to promoting foam recycling with professional foam recycling machines, and is a specialist in foam recycling, having worked with over 1,000 companies worldwide. The machines under this brand are capable of compressing foam up to 1 in 50 or 1 in 90, which is a high quality compression ratio.

A California-based white glove logistics company supplies household appliances to General Electric. They use a lot of foam packaging for different appliances. in late 2014, the company converted the waste foam into profitable revenue with GREENMAX’s foam densifier. Since using the GREENMAX foam recycling machine, the company has saved hundreds of tons of non-biodegradable waste polystyrene foam packaging from landfills, demonstrating a great sense of responsibility to the environment and gaining revenue!

Through this recycling method EPS is better able to achieve today’s popular circular economy, rather than becoming a wasteful treasure that goes to landfill.
